Well to Learn Need help now?

A register of promises, numbers and voices

You cannot learn if you are not well.

Nearly every country has promised its young people school, and health that includes the mind. Most countries have no nationally representative measurement of children's mental health.

Three lines from the register

Each line is stamped with its kind of number, year and source.

  • 249states

    Atlas

A world map with a card for every country, and the same numbers as a plain table. No score, no ranking, and "no data" is never shown as zero.

  • 5profiles

    Voices

Young people interviewed for this site, anonymous, drawn rather than photographed, in their own words.

  • 9chapters

    Your rights

What your country promised you, in plain language: the treaty, the article, the line it comes from, where it tends to fail, and what you can ask for. Not every chapter is open yet; the contents page says which.

From the Atlas

Map key
BandColourWhat it means
band 1 of 5lowest on the layer
band 2 of 5below the middle
band 3 of 5the middle
band 4 of 5above the middle
band 5 of 5highest on the layer
no dataa hatch, never a colour, and never zero

The line under each band thickens with it, so the order reads without colour. Each layer prints its own band thresholds beside the map. No colour for modelled prevalence.

Published

Ten indicators, every country, each value with its year, type and source.

A country with no value reads "no data", and a value older than its limit says so.
